Fall/Winter Studio Update 2016

Greetings Friends & Colleagues,

Happy holidays! I wish you well as 2016 comes to a close. I want to share what’s new, upcoming events, and recent developments and directions in my studio practice. 

Notably, I’ve been working on several small art journals this winter as a way to unwind. Sometimes, in the middle of trying to create work that speaks to social, cultural, and political issues, I need to take a break from big issues and just paint. For me, stepping away helps the work relax and allows new pathways to take form. Have a look,

If you’re not already aware, I filled the early fall season with several shows and an exhibition that I self-curated. Make sure to check out my current and forthcoming exhibitions. My solo show Coarse Coil Twist Re-twist at Art Palace Gallery in Houston is on view until this December 17^th.

 Also, I am featuring work in two group shows between December and February. The first is Smart Dust at SLA 307 Art Space in New York City (December 9, 2016 to January 7, 2017). Second, MISCELLANEA in Austin runs between January 21st^st to February 18th 2017.

I also plan to show work at the Warfield Center’s newly named exhibition space, the Christian-Green Gallery, late next spring in Austin. Be on the lookout for more information to come. It’ll be great to hear from you all, and thanks for staying tuned!
